Biography
Erk Kurban is a PhD candidate at Georgia Institute of Technology. He received a B.Sc. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey with top ranking. His research focus is on efficient numerical analysis of interactional aerodynamics. He was a participant in Short Training Program at the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics between June 2019 and September 2019.
Research
Erk’s research is on Lattice-Boltzmann real-time dynamic interface (LBRDI). The LBRDI project aims to develop Lattice-Boltzmann Method (LBM) simulations that can accurately predict the coupled ship/aircraft interactions in a real-time simulation environment. LBM simulation results will be compared with high-fidelity CFD results and experimental data for validation.
